Pacific Dover Sole (Microstomus pacificus), despite its name, is actually a type of right-eyed flounder rather than a true sole. As they develop, their left eye migrates to the right side of their body, a characteristic feature of flatfish.

Like other flatfish, they are well-adapted to a benthic lifestyle, living on or near the sea floor, typically on soft bottom habitats.

This species is known for its relatively fast growth and early maturity. Pacific Dover Sole can reach up to 28 inches in length, though those caught commercially typically weigh between 1-2 lbs.
